July 2022 ushered in Hong Kong’s first Typhoon No. 8. The Hong Kong Yiulian tugboat adheres to its consistent style of doing a good job in typhoon prevention and has a rescue-oriented spirit to serve ship owners. During the typhoon, the tugboat team dispatched a total of 3 tugs for emergency rescue work.

On 23 May 2022, the HUD-managed and operated Government Environmental Protection Agency (GEPA) vessel "Chai Wan" arrived for maintenance. The repair was a special inspection project with a heavy workload, and most of the equipment needed to be dismantled, repaired, and cleaned. YiuLian advocates green ship repair, and Dockyard No. 3 was upgraded to provide ultra-high-pressure water rust removal service for "Chai Wan".

On 23 May 2022, "Hai An" and "Hai Lian" towed the CCCC Ltd unmanned ocean-going tugboat "Guo Hai Min Yuan" at the border of South West Lamma island.

On March 8th, CMI Weihai signed the contracts of two 7000 CEU Dual Fuel PCTC vessels with Eastern Pacific Shipping, which are the option vessels after signing four vessels of the same type last year. Up to now, CMI Weihai has placed 6 orders for this type of vessels.

Within the past two years, COVID-19 has been a severe pandemic that spread all over the world. To minimize the risk of infection rate caused by import, MaZhou Island base built a negative pressure quarantine station specifically for overseas ship crews. Epidemic prevention and control is both productivity and competitiveness.

In the afternoon of 18th Nov, CMI and CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited held the signing ceremony(via vedio) of LuFeng 12-3 FPSO hull construction contract. Wangwei, vice general manager of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited, and Tiger Wu, vice general manager of CMI, attended the ceremony.
