On October 26th, 2022, Grimaildi Euromed, a subsidiary of Grimaldi Group signed Shipbuilding Contracts with China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. for 5+5 units of 9000 ceu PCTC. The cooperating parties participated in the signing ceremony in 5 different cities in China and Italy through live webcast.

The representatives representing the Shipowner to attend the ceremony include Mr. Emanuele Grimaldi, Joint Managing Director of Grimaildi Group & Chairman of Grimaildi Euromed, Mr. Diego Pacella, Joint Managing Director of Grimaildi Group & Managing Director of Grimaildi Euromed, senior executives and project related personnel of Grimaildi Euromed.

On behalf of the Builder, Mr. Simple Hu, General Manager, Mr. Tiger Wu, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Industrial Holdings, Mr. Mei Zhonghua, General Manager of China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., meanwhile senior executives of the shipyard and project related personnel attended the ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives from China Merchants Cruise Researching Institute, China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding (Weihai) Co., Ltd. and the brokerage company.

Mr. Simple Hu delivered a speech on behalf of the builder, he pointed out that this is the third shipyard Grimaldi Group have placed order for shipbuilding contact under China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. He thanked the shipowners for their trust. As one of the few shipyards in China that capable to build high-end marine & offshore units and luxury cruise ships, China Merchants Industry Haimen Base, where China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. is located, has professional technical and construction team. We are looking forward to delivery of high-quality ships for Grimali Group- an old friend of China Merchants Industry Holdings.

In Mr. Emanuele Grimaldi's speech, he reviewed the long-term cooperation between China Merchants Industry Holdings and Grimaldi Group in the past, emphasized the technical innovation and challenges faced in the application of new green technology, and hoped that the project teams of both parties would work closely with full passion to win the challenges. Grimaldi Group has been committed to sustainable development for a long time. He believes that he can cooperate with China Merchants Industry Holdings to be pioneers of the green revolution.

At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Emanuele Grimaldi and Mr. Mei Zhonghua signed the shipbuilding contract in the presence of all parties attending the ceremony.

The 9000 ceu PCTCs signed adopt a variety of energy-saving and emission reducing technologies, and is currently the longest PCTC in the world. There are already 8 PCTCs orders effected in the Haimen Base of China Merchants Industry Hoildings. The signing of 5+5 new orders has implemented the product serialization strategy formulated at the beginning of the year. In addition to orders in hand from other shipyards under China Merchants Industry Holdings, PCTC has become its star product and has taken a leading position in the international market.
