Yiu Lian Tugboat joins the "Xuelong 2" Sea Cruise to Hong Kong

On the morning of 8 April, the national polar research vessel "Xuelong 2" docked at Ocean Terminal after visiting Hong Kong on a sea cruise to share the mysteries of polar exploration with Hong Kong.Yiu Lians tugboats "Hai Bao", "Hai Peng" and "Hai Tai" participated in a sea parade to welcome "Xuelong 2" to Hong Kong. The two 7,000-horsepower tugboats "Hai Kun" and "Hai Peng" escorted the vessel and formed a water gate by spraying water at the Ocean Terminal to wait for the passage of "Xuelong 2","Hai Tai" was responsible for transporting Hong Kong pilots on board the "Xuelong 2", escorting it from Lei Yue Mun to the waters near the Ocean Terminal and assisting it to dock at the Ocean Terminal.

Participants of the "Xue Long 2" sea parade included vessels of the Police, Fire Services Department, Customs and Excise Department, Correctional Services Department, Environment and Ecology Department, Environmental Protection Department, Fish Protection Department and other government departments, as well as some community fishing and commercial vessels, and helicopters of the Hong Kong Government Flying Service (HKGFS).

Yiu Lian tugboats often provide escort and off-berthing services for government and military vessels (e.g. aircraft carriers and other warships) visiting Hong Kong. Yiu Lian has also been involved in Hong Kong's maritime construction services for a long time, such as the West-East Natural Gas Pipeline, the Shatin to Central Link, the three runs of the Hong Kong Airport, the Sok Kwu Chau LNG project, the Tseung Kwan O Bridge and other major governmental projects, not only to provide high-quality services, but also to contribute to the protection of Hong Kong's waterborne traffic safety, and to fulfil the responsibility of serving Hong Kong as a corporate citizen.
